I woke up this morning and clicked on the Fox News website as I normally do. I was disturbed by the images of destruction I saw in Haiti. The earthquake there seems to have done quite a bit of damage and the helper in me wants to do something now. That is hard to do from here in Texas. I then wanted to turn on the TV and watch as if driving by a car wreck, but I had yet to have my quiet time. So I picked up my Bible instead.
I turned to Psalm 113 which was my scheduled Psalm for the day and there God was speaking to me right where I was. Verse 7 says "He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap." Wow, that is what my God can do. So that is my prayer for those hurting people today that He will lift the needy people there from their heaps of rubble and raise them from their dust and seeming destruction.
